Holiday Cookies To Make Last Minute

December 23rd, 2019 by

The holiday season is coming to a close, but don’t worry, there’s still plenty of times to whip up a few batches of holiday cookies to share with loved ones, or perhaps Santa Claus. Most of these recipes come together in just a little over an hour, so you’ll have plenty of time to make a few!

Peppermint Meltaway Cookies
Try a spin on your old favorite classic with peppermint extract in the dough and a peppermint frosting and topping. If you don’t care for peppermint, it would be easy to substitute almond, vanilla, orange, or any other extract of your choosing.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies
These delicious, buttery treats only require four ingredients for the dough and nonpareil sprinkles for decorating. Plus, they don’t require any special equipment – you’ll shape them with your hands and a fork! As a note, this recipe will make 16 – 18 dozen cookies, so you can easily halve this for a more manageable bake.

Rum Balls
Good news! It turns out these classic holiday delights are surprisingly easy to make, and you’ll probably have most of the ingredients already on hand. There’s no additional chill time or bake time for this Rum Ball recipe, so you’ll only spend about an hour in the kitchen!

Vanilla-Butter Sugar Cookies
This is an easy, tasty sugar cookie recipe that accentuates the sweet, buttery flavor with vanilla extract. You can use cookie cutters and icing to decorate these classic Christmas treats.

Scottish Shortbread
Three ingredients and a fork will get you rich, buttery Scottish shortbread cookies in about an hour. Try dunking these yummies in coffee, hot cocoa, or chai tea for an extra-special treat.

Dipped Gingersnaps
This nostalgic recipe will take you straight back to cookie platters of Christmas past. These spicy-sweet treats are accentuated with melted white chocolate drizzled onto the cookies. If you don’t care for white chocolate, the drizzle is completely optional!

Jeweled Coconut Drops A (Macaroons)
Red raspberry preserves add a touch of tang to an otherwise ultra-rich cookie in this decadent-yet-simple recipe. We’re sure they won’t last long out of the oven!
