"We like the CR-V, with its responsive engine, firm ride, and fine build quality; it remains one of the best compact crossovers on the market"
"If you're shopping for a top-shelf compact SUV, the CR-V remains one of your best bets"
All of us at Honda Cars of Boston, a premier Honda dealership in Everett, MA, humbly consider the 2016 Honda CR-V to be the absolute best option for those in Massachusetts who seek a compact SUV.
Last year, the 2015 Honda CR-V received several noticeable upgrades offering more mpg, fresh features and even a few styling tweaks. Perhaps, the most important upgrade was the revised 2.4-liter engine that's paired with a CVT (essentially, the engine/transmission combo you get in the Accord). The result is a little more torque and a lot more fuel efficiency for Massachusetts CR-V owners.
The 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 185 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque delivers 29 mpg combined (27 city/34 highway) for front-wheel drive CR-Vs while the New England favorite all-wheel-drive CR-V delivers 28 mpg combined (26 city/33 highway).
For 2016, the CR-V carries over unchanged, with the exception of a new model, the SE. Honda added the "Special Edition" trim level to sit just above the entry-level LX. However, to describe the LX as "entry-level" is a misnomer. The 2016 Honda CR-V LX comes with essential goodies like air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, and even a rearview camera.
At the top of the 2016 CR-V lineup, Honda offers the CR-V Touring. It packs a power tailgate and the full driver-assistance package, including forward-collision warning and automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control and it's the only CR-V to come with 18-inch wheels.
